Cake will be going ‘The Distance’

January 5, 2012
The Maui Weekly

When the '90s "alt" band Cake rescheduled its show at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center that was slated for November 2011, fans all over the island were devastated. Fortunately, they've been given a reason to smile with the band's newly announced concert date of Feb. 25 at 7:30 p.m. They will be playing the MACC's Castle Theater and are anticipated to perform their much-loved 1996 single, "The Distance," among other tracks.

The Sacramento-based band is comprised of singer John McCrea, Vince DiFore on trumpet, Xan McCurdy on guitar, Gabe Nelson on bass and Paulo Baldi on drums. Holders of tickets from the November show can redeem them at the February concert. Tickets can also be purchased at the MACC Box Office for $39 to $89. For more information, call the MACC at 242-SHOW (7469) or visit mauiarts.org.
