The deadline for making a nomination for this year's Small Business Awards is March 16. The completed forms must be submitted to the Maui County Business Resource Center in the Maui Mall. The Small Business Awards are produced by a partnership between the Maui Chamber of Commerce and the County of Maui's Office of Economic Development. They recognize small businesses on Maui that have 50 or fewer employees. The businesses are required to have had a general excise tax license for no less than two years.
The competition is currently accepting nominations for companies that "show business leadership in a changing economic environment, create a quality work environment for their employees, exhibit the Aloha Spirit and exemplary customer service, develop partnerships with other sectors of the community, and demonstrate other exceptional qualities or traits," according to a press release.
