MHS to Hold Annual Fur Ball Fundraiser

February 23, 2012
The Maui Weekly

The Maui Humane Society's (MHS) ninth Fur Ball and After Party fundraiser for the animals is coming up on Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Grand Wailea Resort & Spa. Proceeds from the annual event support the Maui Humane Society (MHS) in its efforts to serve the community and provide care and compassion to Maui's animals.

Fur Balls of years past have been considered the hottest events on Maui and the 2012 gala will be no different. The prom-themed "Happily Ever After" gala will be full of clich prom fun, including prom photos, crowning of the King and Queen of the Prom, and lots of dancing!

This fabulous event will feature delicious gourmet dinner, live and silent auctions, dancing with Jimmy Mac & the Kool Kats, and much more.

Join MHS to celebrate our wonderful furry friends and relive the pinnacle of your high school memories without the bad hair and braces! The gala evening will begin at 5 p.m. in the Haleakala Ballroom and end at 11 p.m.

Fur Ball tickets are $135 each or a group of 10 can purchase a table for $1,250.

Black tie glam (no matter the era) and creative costumes are encouraged, but not required.

For those who want to party, but don't want to attend the entire gala, the resort's Tsunami Night Club will be rockin' the night away for one night only! The After Party runs from 9:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. to benefit MHS.

Tickets for this event are just $25 each and all proceeds benefit the orphaned pets at MHS. Be sure to dress to impress, as dress code will be enforced and valid IDs will be checked at the door.

Tickets for both events can be purchased in advance at www.MauiHumaneSociety.org or by calling 877-3680, ext. 32. Tickets will also be available at the door.

A discounted price of $150 each will cover admission to both the Fur Ball and After Party.

For overnight reservations at the hotel, Fur Ball guests should call 875-1234 or (800-888-6100) toll-free and ask for group reservations. For more information, visit www.GrandWailea.com.

Dust off those glamorous gowns, pull out your best duds and join MHS in their celebration of the year, while helping to raise funds for the next!
