State Sen. Roz Baker and Rep. George Fontaine invite the public to attend their Talk Story and Legislative Update on Saturday, Feb. 25, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Kihei Charter School campus in Lipoa Center, 41 East Lipoa St.
"Saturday's talk story is an opportunity for us to update our community about legislation being considered at the State Capitol," said Sen. Baker, D-5th District (South and West Maui), "and to get direct feedback from our constituents."
"We really value hearing from our community," added Rep. Fontaine, D-11th District (Makena, Wailea and Kihei).
The meeting will take place during the constitutionally mandated five-day recess for legislators to report back to their constituents on pending legislation for 2012, receive comments and answer questions.
"We're working on ways to address the state and nationwide foreclosure crisis, budget shortfall and social service cutbacks, as well as kick-start our stagnant economy," noted Sen. Baker.
"Many ideas are being discussed," said Rep. Fontaine. "Whatever the outcome, our community will be affected."
All interested members of the public are invited to attend. For further information, contact Sen. Baker's office on O'ahu: from Maui, call 984-2400, ext. 66070, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
