Overtone to Perform Maui Debut

March 8, 2012
The Maui Weekly

Overtone, a South African vocal group, will make its Maui debut on Friday, March 9, at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center.

Overtone was discovered by part-time Maui residents Clint and Dina Eastwood in Cape Town, South Africa, in 2009. The Eastwoods were so impressed that Clint hired the band to perform all the vocal songs on the soundtrack of his movie "Invictus," and Dina Eastwood became the band's full-time manager.

Since the fateful union in 2009, Overtone has appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," "Lopez Tonight," "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" and other national television shows.

Overtone has been featured in Us Weekly, and on Delta Airlines' in-flight spotlight.

The band has opened for multi-platinum OneRepublic, and toured with Grammy Award winner Corinne Bailey Rae.

Overtone has performed at private events for such luminaries as Tony Bennett and Charlize Theron--both big fans of this amazing a cappella band.

Overtone has also been featured in a show with David Foster, and completed a two-month run as the "in-house band" at the legendary Wynn Hotels in Las Vegas.

Overtone is now the subject of a new television show being shot partially on Maui.
