Don Blackwelder, Honokohau

"Ludacris... My family's land in Honokohau was taken away recently after a Maui 2nd Circuit Court hearing, stating that a 1977 ruling said the land was probated so that some businessmen from Canada could buy the title and lay claim to the land And now, my uncle who is living on the land has to move out because of the fact that the judge has awarded these people the whole land, instead of the one-third they bought in the probate. And now, my pure-blooded Hawaiian 86-year-old uncle has nowhere to live or go, and he has to vacate the property that has been in our family's hands for generations--since 1853. It's just bizarre this can happen we only went to court over one-third of these properties and now they are awarded it all?"
