This coming Wednesday, college students, soon to be graduates, or alumni seeking an internship or employment opportunity are in luck-the University of Hawai'i Maui College's (UHMC) new CareerLink office will hold a college transfer and career fair.
Attendees will gain insight in the local job market, learn more about the employment skills in demand, and network with hiring managers from companies and organizations like AFLAC, County of Maui, Four Seasons Resort and the Maui High Performance Computing Center.
But you might need to get your suit dry-cleaned first.
"We encourage people to come prepared," said Kehau Newhouse, Education & Support Specialist for CareerLink. "That means researching colleges and companies of particular interest, updating your resume and having copies available, dressing appropriately and not being afraid to ask questions! This is a great opportunity to make new connections."
CareerLink is a program at UHMC that prepares students for the challenges of an increasingly competitive job market, connects them to the business community through internships and helps place them after graduation. The event is free, and will take place on Wednesday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to noon in the Student Lounge located in the Pilina building on the UHMC campus.
