More flights and gates announced for Hawaiian Airlines

May 10, 2012
The Maui Weekly

The Maui News - Round trip flights between Maui and the Neighbor Islands are increasing by 25 percent, and daily non-stop flights between Maui and Los Angeles will resume this summer. To accommodate greater numbers, Hawaiian Airlines has added three new gates to their operations at Kahului Airport. Traffic between California and Maui will see the biggest increases, with daily flights from Oakland, and flights from San Jose five days per week. All flights will arrive on Maui by 12:30 p.m., in order to allow passengers to easily make connections to Neighbor Islands. All Hawaiian Airlines flights will operate from gates 11 to 21, in the center of the terminal. These gates are the first ones encountered after passengers pass through security. The airline added three new Boeing 717-200 airlines to its Neighbor Island fleet earlier this year, and will feature Boeing 767-300 wide-body, two-aisle aircraft for its transpacific flights.
