Enjoy an elegant afternoon at Honua Kai Lani Estate in Makena to support the community service projects of the Rotary Club of Maui at the Taste of Makena on May 19, from 3 to 6 p.m.
Restaurants serving samples of their cuisine at the event will include A Saigon Caf, Bentos & Banquets by Bernard, Down to Earth, Famous Dave's BBQ, Giannotto's Pizzaria, Lulu's Maui, Maui Catering Co., Mulligan's On The Blue and Roy's Ka'anapali.
The Maui Job Corps Culinary Arts program will provide desserts.
Kula Kai Lani Estate owner Joe Sugarman will serve as master of ceremonies for an afternoon of entertainment that includes legendary steel guitarist Henry K. Allen, the vintage Hawaiian tunes of the Hula Honeys and the jazz sounds of Sal Godinez with Estee Graham.
Students from Maui Job Corps will perform dances from their home islands.
Guests will find treasures and adventures in silent and live auctions, with Dean Wong serving as auctioneer. Assisting the Maui Club (the island's original Rotary club) with the auction will be the island's newest club, Valley Isle Sunset.
Parking will be at Mulligan's on the Blue in Wailea, with free shuttles provided to the estate.
