South Maui Coed Softball League
The South Maui Coed Softball League finished up its first season with a single-elimination tournament on April 29 at the South Maui Community Park field. Cove Park 'Ohana got the day going with an easy 17-1 win over Hobrah's. Next up, Pool Polo edged Stella Blues 12-11. Regular season champ Nuts & Honey's took the field for the third game of the day and rolled past the 808 Grinders 14-2 to advance to the championship game against Pool Polo, who overcame the Cove Park 'Ohana 8-7.
The championship game between the leagues top two teams was all Pool Polo as they jumped out to an early lead, then cruised to an 18-10 win.

It was a fun season for everybody. Already we have more teams wanting to enter, so stay tuned--we may start up another coed League in the not-too-distant future.
Southside Skate Jam
On Saturday, May 26, the South Maui Parks Department will host the Southside Skate Jam at the Kalama Skatepark. All beginning and novice skateboarders are invited to come.
Instructors will be on-hand to demonstrate proper care of equipment, safe skateboard riding and some tricks. The event will feature music, snacks and a few prize giveaways, also. Registration starts at 9 a.m. with the event running from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Girls Basketball League
Still taking registration for our girls basketball league, ages 9 to 15. Our clinics will continue through May on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Kihei Elementary School court. Sign in is at 4:15 p.m. and the clinics start at 4:30 p.m.
Makule Softball
Makule Softball (40 and over) started a new season on Monday, May 7. Games are played at the South Maui Community Park field every Monday night starting at 6, 7 and 8 p.m.
