Our Makule Softball League (the over-40 guys) was back in action on Monday, May 14, with three games.
In the first game, En Fuego jumped out to a 3-0 lead after one inning, then went on to beat Kihei Sporting Goods 11-4. Jeff Smith, Alex Antonio and Alex Roman went a combined seven for eight, with five RBIs leading the way. Dennis Thompson had two RBIs for KSG, which managed only eight hits for the game.
The night's next game saw Who's On First score two runs in the first inning, then erupt for seven more in the second inning on eight hits, all singles, on their way to a 15-7 win over Blue Collar. David Tuzon went four for five, knocking in four runs for "the Who." Chris Dernovich went three for four, knocking in two runs to pace Blue Collar.
South Maui Sports
Finishing the night's play, Wasabi and Pizza Madness both started hot, tying 7-7 after just two innings. But after that, Pizza Madness managed only one more run and fell to Wasabi 11-8. Brian Vierra was four for five with one RBI, Eddie Alves three for four, and Jeff Simon knocked in two runs for Wasabi, while Lance Ribucan's two for four and one RBI paced Pizza Madness.
Makule League games are played at the Community Park field Monday nights.
Southside Skate Jam
All beginning and novice skateboarders--don't forget to come to Kalama Skatepark on Saturday, May 26, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the Southside Skate Jam.
