Shawn Sweeney, president and CEO of Landmark Hotels Group, has announced the promotion of Carmine Iommazzo to general manager of Makena Beach & Golf Resort. The hotel has recently undergone a multi-million dollar makeover with all its 322 rooms and suites refurbished.
Mr. Iommazzo got his diploma at the International College of Hotel Management in Adelaide.
He worked at Hyatt Hotels in Adelaide and Melbourne, as well as The Regent Hotel Sydney. Upon graduation he joined the Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas. Three years later, he came to Maui, joining Kahana Beach Resort as their front desk manager. After stints at Kapalua Bay Hotel, the Sheraton Hotel and Marina in San Diego and The Kahala Hotel and Resort, he was made resident manager of Makena Beach and Golf Resort in 2011, soon followed by this year's promotion to general manager.
