Alaska Airlines announced it will offer seasonal service between Portland, Ore., and the island of Kaua'i. The four flights a week will start Nov. 5. These seasonal flights are in addition to flights Alaska offers between Portland and Honolulu, Maui and Kona.
The Hawai'i Tourism Authority estimates the flights will provide $12.7 million in visitor spending and $1.4 million in tax revenue.
"We are thrilled to introduce service from Portland to the beautiful Garden Isle of the Hawaiian Islands," said Joe Sprague, Alaska Airlines vice president of marketing, in the company's press release. "Alaska's 26 flights to Hawai'i each week from Portland give our customers several convenient options and great low fares to visit some of the world's most beautiful beaches."
The flights will leave Portland at 10:40 a.m., and will leave Kaua'i at noon.
