The Wailea Resort Association has issued a call for entries to "Art, Wine & Food," an inaugural artwork competition in correlation with the first-ever Wailea Wine & Food Festival scheduled for December 6 through 9. Art entries, open to all Maui County artists age 21 and over, will be accepted through July 31.
"Art, wine and food share a creative connection and we want to challenge Maui's talented artists to capture that relationship," said Bud Pikrone, general manager of the Wailea Resort Association. "We want to support the local art community by selecting a unique piece of art as our festival image, and we hope this will become an ongoing tradition each year as the festival continues."
All artwork submitted for the "Art, Wine & Food" competition will be qualified by a selection committee and displayed during the Wailea Wine & Food Festival. Patrons will be able to view and purchase these selections via a silent auction benefiting the Maui Culinary Academy.
