Makule Softball League

Monday, June 18, was a windy night with runs being somewhat hard to come by, but our Makule Softballers (50 and over) still managed to get in three good games.

Opening up the evening, Who's On First beat Kihei Sporting Goods 10-0, handing KSG their second straight shutout loss. Mark Klaschka went two for three with four RBI to lead "The Who," while KSG struggled at the plate, managing only three hits for the game.

Girls Basketball League

On Tuesday, June 19, our Girls Basketball League got underway at Kalama Park. This year, we have two divisions--11 and under, and 14 and under--with four teams in each.

Opening night saw three lopsided games out of the four played.

The first two games were the younger girls. The Sparks used their height advantage to beat Mayhem 43-3 behind Erin Ho'okano's 26 points. Ashley Peralta added six. Sidney Tanaka did all of Mayhem's scoring.

Next up, the Lil Toon Squad had five players score two points each, while Elizabeth Yamane scored three for Southside.

The older girls took the court for the last two games. Mayhem I ran past the Sparks 49-3. Mahie Spenser's 16 points and Brooks Carillo's 12 were tops for Mayhem.

Tehani Akina-Ancog's 12 points, and Nicole Pagan-Eldredge's 11 lead Mayhem II to a 49-19 win over Southside, who were led by Kiara Lopez's nine points and Victoria Yamane's four.

Girls' league games are played every Tuesday at Kalama Park with the first game tipping off at 4:15 p.m.
