Girls Basketball League
Our girls' league was back on the court on the June 26 with four games at Kalama Park. In the Jr. Midgets Division (9-11 years old), the first game of the night was a forfeit win for the Sparks over the Toon Squad, who did not have enough players.
The next game saw Southside overwhelm Mayhem 38-10 behind Angel Pauole's 12 points, and Jaiden Eldredge's 10. Kealohi Real topped Mayhem, scoring four points.
In the Midgets Division (14 and under), Mayhem I took advantage of Southside's cold shooting for a 40-6 win. Emma Hanlon led the way, scoring 14 points, with Brooks Carillo adding 11. Ka'aina Kalanikau's two three-point baskets accounted for all of Southside's scoring.
Mayhem II's full-court press helped them take an 11-2 halftime lead over the Sparks on their way to a 22-11 victory. Dayna Calubaquib scored a game-high 10 points and Jenicca Tamura scored five to pace Mayhem II. Ashley Peralta's three points were tops for the Sparks.
Girls' league games are played every Tuesday at Kalama Park beginning at 4:15 p.m.
Our 15 and under and 17 and under leagues will be starting soon.
