Our Girls Basketball League continued with four more games on Tuesday, July 3. The Lil Toon Squad rebounded from a forfeit loss the previous week to defeat Mayhem 24-10 in the Jr. Midgets Division. Kayjan Pahukoa led the way with 14 points, with Gabby Burton chipping in with six. Brilley Carillo and Sidney Tanaka did all the scoring for Mayhem, with six and four points respectively.

Next up, the Sparks knocked off Southside 26-10. Ashley Peralta continued to dominate, scoring a game-high 16 points, with Darlyn Dayaon adding eight. Heleina Tau was top scorer for Southside with eight points, and Angel Pauole scored two.

Mayhem II defeated Mayhem I 36-31 as Dayna Calubaquib and Jenicca Tamura led a balanced attack with eight points apiece. Brooks Carillo had a game-high 14 points in a losing cause for Mayhem I, with Liana Tanaka adding six.

In the last game of the night, Brianna Kee Chong Guzman scored eight points, and Ashley Peralta scored seven as the Sparks ran past Southside 25-9. Victoria Yamane's six points led Southside.

Girls' league games are played Tuesdays at Kalama Park, with the first game tipping off at 4:15pm.

Basketball and Softball

Our 14 and under, and 17 and under basketball leagues will start very soon. We are now accepting registration for girls softball. Forms can be picked up at, and dropped off or mailed back to the South Maui Parks District Office at 303 E. Lipoa St. in Kihei.
