The Shops at Wailea, Maui Coffee Association and Maui County Farm Bureau have announced a partnership in developing a first-of-its-kind coffee event in South Maui.
The first-annual Grown on Maui Coffee Festival at The Shops at Wailea will take place Saturday, Aug. 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The free event is open to all, and will offer an opportunity interact with Maui coffee growers, learn what makes the island's beans unique, and sample an array of brews and coffee-related offerings.
"Maui-grown coffee is in a class of its own," said Bob Dye, general manager of The Shops at Wailea. "We're proud to showcase our island's agriculture experts and their crop."
"It's the full seed-to-cup experience," said Greg Stille, president of the Maui Coffee Association. "From our educational displays, to on-site roasting, to samplings of the freshest coffee on Maui, this is a tasty opportunity to discover the unique characteristics of Maui coffees."
