The Maui Weekly

The Kihei Toastmasters Club began a fresh year on Tuesday, July 3, with the installation of new officers. Now at the helm are Carmel Patterson as president and vice president of public relations, Ann Elaine Johnson as vice president of education and treasurer, Gayle Lewis as vice president of membership, Jeanine Summer as secretary and Brett Baughman as sergeant-at-arms.

The ceremony was conducted by the Maui Toastmasters' Area Gov, David Kapaku.

Toastmasters is an international organization dedicated to improving the communication skills and leadership abilities of its members. The Kihei Toastmasters Club was chartered in 1995 and continues to meet weekly on Tuesday evenings at 6 p.m. in the Garden Room of Kalama Heights, 101 Kanani Road.

The club is seeking new members and invites anyone who is interested in self-improvement to visit during a club meeting and see how the Toastmasters program helps members build confidence and learn new skills in a friendly, supportive atmosphere.

For more information, call Ann Elaine Johnson at (808) 298-3966.
