Kaniela Ing, an O'ahu resident who has just moved to Maui for the purpose of campaigning, seems to assert that even though he has not actually done anything for our district, he is qualified to represent South Maui in the Legislature because, as per The Maui News, "This is where I caught my first wave This is where I caught my first fish." So now surfing and fishing in a district qualifies one to represent it?
He claims that his parents "settled down" in Kihei, yet he grew up in Makawao. Since he has not actually lived in or done anything for our district, he can only tout that he has campaigned in it. In all three candidate debates, he brazenly bragged that he has campaigned door to door (as have other candidates in the race). His campaign is his campaign. You have got to be kidding!
