Pacific Business News - Guy H. Kaulukukui has been named senior vice president and head of Hawai'i operations for land investment company Bio-Logical Capital, which is in talks to buy the 4,500-acre Hana Ranch on Maui.
Kaulukukui, who was most recently deputy director of the state Department of Land and Natural Resources, will be in charge of the Colorado-based company's Hawai'i operations "and be responsible for implementing Bio-Logical Capital's vision to make long-term investments in projects that heal land, help people and generate revenue in Hawaii," the company said.
Bio-logical Capital recently said it is interested in acquiring Hana Ranch as part of that goal.
Kaulukukui has also previously worked at The Kohala Center in Waimea on Hawai'i Island, and served as chief of staff and senior advisor for former Honolulu Councilman Todd Apo.
Bio-Logical Capital also partnered with Pattern Energy on a joint venture called Molokai Renewables to develop a 200-megawatt wind farm on the island as part of the Big Wind project and planned to bid on a request for proposals from Hawaiian Electric Co.
