On Monday, Aug. 13, Kevin Fanara and Chris Vierra opened Who's On First's game with Kihei Sporting Goods (KSG) with back-to-back solo homeruns, leading them to an 18-6 win. McCall Ned was KSG's top hitter, going two for three with three RBIs.

Next up, Lawrence Carniecy and Steve Rapanecker combined for seven RBIs as Da Braddah's outslugged Wasabi 18-12. Brandon Moyer led Wasabi, going two for three with two RBIs.

Wrapping up the night, Pizza Madness jumped out to an 11-1 lead over Blue Collar (BC), but BC kept chipping away, eventually tying the score. Then with one out, Mike Pilliod's single to left field knocked in the game winner, earning BC the 12-11 victory. John Bruce went three for four with four RBI for BC.

Senior Division Basketball

Our two Senior Divisions continued play at Kalama Park with two games on Aug. 15. Elite jumped out a seemingly comfortable 22-6 halftime lead, then held on to defeat Alpha 32-28. Elijah Engoring scored 12 points to lead Elite. Josh Divina scored seven points for Alpha.

Lazy But Talented (LBT) and No Idea played a fast-paced game that went back and forth with neither leading by more than five points. Tied 54-54 at the end of regulation, an extra five minutes was needed. At the end of overtime, the score was tied 60-60. League rules limit season games to just one overtime, so the game ended a tie.

The 14 & Under Division played on the Tuesday and Thursday, Aug. 14 and 16.

On Tuesday, Westside topped the Kihei Jaguars 39-30 behind Jeremy Santos' 13 points. Dylan Brand led the Jags with seven points. Then in a battle of Elites, I edged II 38-36 with Mark Ranchez leading the way with 13 points. Tristan Nichols led Elite II with 15 points.

On Thursday, Westside took sole possession of first place by defeating Elite I 45-25. Jeremy Santos scored 14 points and Jeremi Lorenzo scored 13 for Westside. L.J. Lindsey was tops for Elite I with 12 points. Finishing up the week's play, the Kihei Jaguars got by the Blue Devils 22-9. Cyrus Pestana's 12 points and David Pawlak's four led the Jags. Scot Magno hustled his way to six points for the Blue Devils.

The week of Aug. 27 is playoff time for both Senior Divisions, with all games played at Kalama Park.

South Maui Men's Softball League

The South Maui Men's Softball League will begin play Tuesday, Sept. 11, with 15 teams. All games played at the South Maui Community Park field on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights at 6, 7 and 8 p.m.

Several homerun balls have been hit over the left field fence since the field opened just about a year ago. Who will be the first to clear the fence in right field, and will it happen this season?

We welcome anyone who wants to help referee or keep score. Give us a call at 879-4533, or just come to the park on game days. For more South Maui Sports information, check Facebook at www.facebook.com/southmauiparks. Have a great weekend!
