It's time to get your tickets for Maui Academy of Performing Arts' (MAPA) 24th Annual Garden Party on Sunday, Sept. 9, from 1 to 5 p.m. on the beautiful grounds of the Yokouchi family estate in Wailuku.

A perennial favorite, this year's event features a host of new restaurants and artists, as well as well-known participants from previous years. Featuring live entertainment from some of Maui's most talented singers, MAPA's Garden Party is one of the island's signature events highlighting the culinary, fine and performing arts.

Adding to this year's ambience, guests will also enjoy viewing several vintage cars from Maui automobile enthusiasts.

"MAPA has grown into one of the state's largest performing arts organizations, reaching over 45,000 children every year," said Linda Howlett, MAPA's board secretary and chairperson for the event. "The Garden Party fundraiser plays an essential role in ensuring that MAPA's programs remain accessible and affordable."

The Garden Party features an impressive Chefs' Festival with gourmet offerings from Maui restaurants as well as world class wines, locally brewed beer and an assortment of alcohol-free beverages. Participating restaurants include 100 Wines Maui, A Saigon Caf, Bentos & Banquets by Bernard, Bistro Casanova, Caf O'Lei Restaurants, Duke's Beach House, Flatbread Company, Lahaina Coolers Restaurant & Bar, Maui Chocolate Fountain, Maui Tacos Mexican Surf Grill, Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman, Three's Bar & Grill, Vineyard Food Company by Catering from Soup to Nuts and Waterfront Restaurant.

During the Chef's Festival, well-known local duo Moondance (Jim Howlett and Rudy Esquer) will perform live jazz.

Complementing this fabulous assortment of cuisine, guests will enjoy fine wines from Whole Foods Market, locally brewed beer from Maui Brewing Company, and alcohol-free beverages from Hansen Beverage Company and Maui Coffee Roasters.

One of the event's signature offerings is Fresh Art. As guests meander through the picturesque grounds, they will have the opportunity to watch some of the island's top painters and sculptors create beautiful works of art to be sold at the end of the afternoon by auctioneer Andy Pells.

Maui artists creating Fresh Art this year include George Allan, Robin Bones, Jackie Pias Carlin, Michael Clements, Joseph Fletcher, Anna Good, Jack Hamilton, Marylyn Holland, Jamie Roth and Steve Turnbull.

The Garden Party also features a fabulous silent auction with hotel stays, activities, jewelry, artwork and themed baskets.

The live auction features the Fresh Art created onsite by participating artists with all proceeds benefitting MAPA's scholarship program.

The Giving Tree will offer attendees the opportunity to support MAPA's Dec. 8 production of "Nutcracker Sweets" at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center, featuring over 100 dancers from age 4 to adult.

MAPA has staged over 500 live productions on Maui during the last 38 years and the Garden Party features some of Maui's most talented singers and actors. This year's event includes live performances of beloved musical favorites including selections from "Annie," "My Fair Lady," "Man of La Mancha" and more.

Tickets are $75 ($85 at the event) and include all food and beverages served at the event, offering attendees an exceptional value.
