At 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 30, Whole Foods Market Maui will present a Community Read Aloud Program (RAP) for Maui children and their parents. This 90-minute "Mini RAP" will begin with family time, which includes snacks and a free book from the book swap table.
Then, the "RAP Razzmatazz Game Show" will generate fun and excitement with prizes for trivia questions. The Read-Aloud segment will feature selections from children, teen and adult literature.
Closing the "Mini RAP," participants will have the opportunity to be awarded four grand prizes that include the choice of a brand new book and a gift card from Whole Foods.
Read Aloud America Program Director Joanne Laird will be the presenter for a “Mini RAP” at Whole Foods Market on Sunday, Sept. 30.
RAP Program Director Joanne Laird will be the presenter for this Mini RAP, and Whole Foods Marketing Director Elyse Ditzel will serve as host for food and beverages.
"Arrive early and register on the patio side of Whole Foods Maui, as space is limited to the first 75 keiki and their families," said Laird. "What a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon with your family that is offered free of charge by Whole Foods Market Maui."
Whole Foods will also provide pupu.
Whole Foods Market Maui is a major sponsor of the Read Aloud America Programs on Maui. They have provided funding through the "Recycle Your Change" and "5 percent Community Give Back Day " programs and have provided healthy snacks for several RAP evening school programs.
RAP Program Directors Joanne and Larry Laird are grateful to Whole Foods Market Maui for its support of Read Aloud America's mission: Through the fun of reading and being read-to, Read Aloud America promotes literacy, bonds families and builds communities of lifetime readers.
