The Maui County Website, www.mauicounty.gov, was among a dozen finalists in the 2012 Best of the Web and Digital Government Achievement Awards.
Baltimore County, Maryland, and Sacramento County, California, were also among the finalists listed in the "County Portal Category." Orange County, Florida's site won first place, with four other counties placing in the top five as well.
"Websites have changed the way people interact with their government," Mayor Alan Arakawa said. "Mauicounty.gov enables people to access county information and services online saving time and money, which is why having the best website we can possibly have is so important."
Last month, the county Website had more than 300,000 page views and about 120,000 visits, half from new visitors, according to a news release.
