Share the Road

October 4, 2012
Charles Laquidara (charles@bigmattress.com) , The Maui Weekly

Sure, it's pono to share the road, but please, let's do it with common sense.

If there's a red light ahead, let the people go through who are waiting to get out into the roadway. Wave them on and share the aloha. Nice.

But, if the traffic light ahead is green, you are only being disrespectful of the drivers behind you if you stop and wave waiting drivers onto the roadway while holding traffic up. And it's dangerous.

Share the road.

It's just common sense--and common courtesy.
