On Thursday, Oct. 25, Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriters Donald Fagen of Steely Dan fame; Michael McDonald, solo artist and formerly with The Doobie Brothers; and legendary front-man Boz Scaggs will join forces and hit the Maui Arts & Cultural Center (MACC) pavilion stage as The Dukes of September Rhythm Revue. These classic rock stars are performing together in Hawai'i for the first time with their nine-piece ensemble band.
Each artist is known for recognizable vocals and a unique style, a very successful solo career and enough hits for his own concert with chart-topping favorites, such as Fagen's "Reelin' in the Years," "Rikki Don't Lose That Number," "Do It Again," "I.G.Y. (What A Beautiful World)" and "Hey Nineteen." McDonald's hits include "It Keeps You Running," "Minute by Minute," "Takin' It to The Streets," "What A Fool Believes," "I Keep Forgettin'" and more. Scagg's chart-toppers include "Lowdown," "JoJo," "Lido Shuffle," "Harbor Lights," "Georgia" and "We're All Alone."
Following on the heels of their critically acclaimed "The Dukes of September Rhythm Revue" in 2010, Fagen, McDonald and Scaggs are giving fans an unprecedented opportunity to hear them delve into their individual catalogues of music as well as tributes to their musical influences. Being able to see these superstars at the MACC's intimate Yokouchi Pavilion/ A&B Amphitheater promises to be a memorable concert experience.
