Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea proudly announces its 23rd Annual Day of Hope 10K Run/5K Walk on Saturday, Oct. 20, at 7 a.m. along scenic Wailea Alanui. Proceeds will go to American Cancer Society's Maui Unit and Pacific Cancer Institute of Maui, which offers cancer services and patient care in Hawai'i.
Master of Ceremonies Howard Dashefsky, Emmy Award-winning producer and host of "Sports People Hawai'i," will preside over the morning's events.
A Keiki Dash on Wailea Beach immediately follows the run/walk, and Locks of Love will be on hand to lop off pony tails of 10 inches or longer to be made into real-hair hairpieces and wigs for children going through cancer treatment.
A traditional Hawaiian canoe ceremony will begin on Wailea Beach following a continental breakfast for all event participants on the Oceanfront Lawn.
The public is invited to attend the canoe ceremony as the paddlers voyage beyond the reef for an emotional memorial dedicated to loved ones lost to cancer.
