Youth Basketball League

Registration continues for our upcoming youth basketball. Clinics for our 5 and 6, 7 and 8, and 9 to 11-year-old divisions have started already and will continue through the month of November, but kids can still sign up. Clinics for 5 and 6-year-olds are on Wednesdays and Thursdays for 7 and 8-year-olds, both at Kamali'i Elementary School. The 9 to 11-year-olds are Tuesdays at Kihei Elementary School. Check-in time for all clinics is 4 p.m.

Adult Softball League

Adult softball continues at South Maui Community Park. A new 50-and-Over League started up on Sunday, Nov. 4. It's a five-team league this time.

The first game played saw Maui 5-0 Gray pound out 26 hits in beating En Fuego 20-12. Jus Enuff almost equaled that hit total, coming up with 22 in their 15-2 win over Maui 5-0 Blue.

Games are on Sundays starting at 2:30 p.m.

Coed Softball League

Our Coed League is just about half way through the season, with games continuing Sunday evenings at the South Maui Community Park. On Nov. 4, the 808 Grinders held on for an exciting 7-6 win over Cove Park 'Ohana, followed by two games called after five innings due to the 10-run mercy rule. Nuts & Honeys overcame still winless Red Line 17-7, and So Wut beat out the Beach Bums 16-6. The night's last game saw Boom get by Platinum 13-9.

Men's Softball League

On to the men's league as it enters its final week of the season. Wednesday, Nov. 7, opened with the Red Eye Souljahs completing an undefeated schedule (10-0) with an easy 15-4 win over Caged. Red Eye will enter the six-team post-season playoff as the number one seed. Next up, Kihei Sporting Goods used a seven-run first inning to cruise past Cove Park Braddas 12-2. Then in a game rescheduled from an earlier date, the Wild Ones came from behind to beat that same Cove Park team 15-11.

Three games on Thursday, Nov. 8, ended the week. First up, the Doggie Dawgs outslugged Ten10Ten10Ten 20-10, then K5 Live erupted for 18 runs in the second inning and went on to crush Da Jagerbombers 28-1. Lastly, Goodfellow Brothers built an 11-4 lead over Chicos but had to hold on for the 11-10 win.

The men's league playoffs will be held at South Maui Community Park on Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 21 and 22. Two games on Nov. 21 are scheduled for 6 and 7 p.m. Then three games on Nov. 22, will start at 6 and 7 p.m., with the championship game scheduled for 8 p.m.

We welcome anyone who wants to help referee or keep score. Give us a call at 879-4533, or just come to the park on game days. For more South Maui Sports information, check Facebook at www.facebook.com/southmauiparks. Have a great weekend!
