The Maui Weekly

Maui County Business Resource Center (MCBRC), an extension project of the County of Maui's Office of Economic Development (OED), serves as an entrepreneurial resource for new or existing business owners who need business assistance for operations within Maui County.

The center, located at 70 E. Ka'ahumanu Ave. (Maui Mall) in Kahului, was established to improve public access to government resources and increase the reach of nonprofit partners that provide business assistance and consultation.

A variety of classes will be offered at the center in January.

"Learn How to Lead" will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 15, from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.

"Are you leading your life or is life leading you?" That is the question! Professional speaker, entrepreneur and mentor Larry Roussel has developed a series of workshops with the ultimate goal of helping people reach their true potential and most desired objectives in life. These workshops will start you on the path that takes you from where you are, to where you want to be. Through this seminar, you will develop a plan of action complete with guided accountability to keep you on track. This workshop series was created for people who are serious about wanting to understand how to manifest positive changes in their lives. You have the right to live a happy, satisfying and successful life. This life is not a dress rehearsal. Larry will help you make every minute count.

"Discover the Skill to Achieve Success in Your Business - Part 2" will be presented on Wednesday, Jan. 16, from noon to 1 p.m.

In this workshop, you will learn how to isolate, locate and eliminate the constraints that are presently holding you back from achieving success in your business. What you may not be aware of right now is how you think or what you know determines your success. The one factor that really determines your success will be revealed in this workshop presented by Mike Kern. He provides assistance to businesses on Maui through his volunteer speaking engagements and workshops. In addition, he is a Junior Achievement advisor at Baldwin High School. Through the years, he has owned many businesses in multiple industries, usually selling to larger corporations or completing an IPO. His specialty is business finance, marketing and sales, and operations.
