The South Maui Parks Department would like to thank the staff and students of Kihei Charter School for their awesome help in our parks. Every Wednesday for the month of April, Ellen Federoff brings a group of volunteer kids to help with various projects. So far, they've pulled weeds in South Maui Community Park, painted the bandstand, and painted over graffiti on the tables and benches in the Kalama Park pavilions. A big mahalo goes out to these eager and willing kids.

On Saturday, May 18, the second South Maui Skate Jam will take place at Kalama Skatepark. This year, we're inviting all beginner skateboarders 10 years old and under to come and learn. There will be a lucky drawing with a chance to win a brand new board.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to noon, with registration starting at 8:30 a.m. Call the parks office at 879-4533 for more information.

We are always looking for volunteers to help officiate games. Just bring your shoes, and a willingness to help out--we'll supply the whistles. For information on any of our programs, call the South Maui Parks office at 879-4533, or check out our South Maui Parks Facebook page.
