The South Maui Adult Coed Kickball League (SMACK) concluded its first season with a single elimination playoff.

On Friday, May 10, Balls Deep got it all started with a 10-0 win over Balls To The Wall. Kyle Prescott and Brant Robinson were the top kickers for Balls Deep.

Next, Sarah Schueneman and Justin Orr led Footloose over the Meatballerz 9-6.

The final game of the night was a 9-0 forfeit win for Ballsagna over Don't Shaft My Balls. "Don't" lost a player to injury prior to the game and wasn't able to field a full team.

On Saturday, May 11, it was Da Kine over Footloose 12-2 with Keith DeVey and Jen Lindsey leading Da Kine.

The middle game of the night saw number nine seed Balls Deep upset top-seeded It Burns When I Kick in a tight game 4-2. Prescott and Robinson were Balls Deep's top feet once again.

Ryan Zukeran's three-run triple keyed a five-run fifth inning as Pono Stars went on to beat Livin' The Dream 11-1.

An awesome first kickball season came to an end on Thursday, May 16, with the last three games.

Balls Deep kept its surprising run going with a 10-7 win over Ballsagna. Derek Brown and Mark Lincoln combined to go six-for-six with six RKIs to lead Balls Deep.

Next, Pono Stars' Kaua Kaikala's two-run double in the top of the seventh, broke a scoreless tie, and the Stars went on to beat Da Kine 6-1.

In the championship game, Pono Stars' Ryan Zukeran's two-run triple keyed a four-run third inning as they went on to defeat Balls Deep 11-2.


Makule Softball (40 and over) began play on Monday, May 13, with Kevin Fanara hitting the first pitch of the new season over the left field fence as Jus Enuff beat Da Bruddas 20-8.

Trailing 6-1 in the fifth inning, Wasabi erupted for nine runs, then held on to defeat Brudda Kikas 10-8.

Pizza Madness finished Opening Night with 19-7 win over Blue Collar.


On Tuesday, May 14, the Honey Badgers got nine points from Braedon Medina, and seven from Isaiah Tanner to defeat Elite 37-34. Raider Damuni scored 11 points followed by Tevita Mafileo, who scored eight.

Tevake Faleta scored 12 points as Lahaina (Red) rolled past Maui Lani 55-25. Ashley Peralta scored nine points for Maui Lani.

Clarence Daguio and Darren Yadao scored nine points each as the Kihei Boys beat Southside's Finest 43-13.

On Wednesday, May 15, Southside's Finest rebounded from previous night's loss with a 46-20 win over the Night Marchers. Jason Arrocena scored 12 points for Southside's Finest.

Iverson Turno scored 15 points in Lahaina's (White) 43-23 win over Elite (Makai).

Emma Hanlon dominated the paint with 20 points in Elite's (Mauka) 37-17 victory over Elite.

Games continue at Kalama Park on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings with the first games starting at 5 p.m.
