On Tuesday, June 18, at 6:30 p.m., the Kihei Community Association will present South Maui's three elected state legislators--Sen. Roz Baker and Rep. Kaniela Ing and Rep. Angus McKelvey.
"This trio will give a report of the 2013 Legislation Session and answer a number of questions from the association and the community," said KCA President Mike Moran. "Sometimes the general public forgets that we have two House districts in South Maui,"
Everyone is welcome to attend KCA meetings, which are held the third Tuesday of each month at Kihei Charter Middle School, 41 E. Lipoa St. behind the car wash.
In addition, Kirk Surry from Grow Some Good will present a brief follow-up to the presentation the group offered in March 2012 (go to www.gokihei.org/news/new-gardens-wiil-be-sprouting-across-south-maui, or search for "Kihei Community Association Holds 'Garden Party' at www.mauiweekly.com
There will also be the monthly "sense of place" segment.
The Tuesday, July 16, meeting will focus on two distinct issues--an upcoming detour off South Kihei Road for bridge construction and an update on the Honua'ula (formerly Wailea 670) proposed development.
Non-perishable food donations are strongly encouraged for the ongoing Maui Food Bank drive.
Doors open at 6 p.m. for pupu and talk story.
