Sen. Rosalyn Baker and Rep. Kaniela Ing invite the public to attend their "Talk Story and End of Session Wrap Up" on Saturday, June 15, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Kihei Charter School campus in Lipoa Center.
"Saturday's talk story is an opportunity for us to update our community on bills passed and capital improvements projects funded by the state Legislature," said Sen. Baker, D-6th District, South and West Maui. "This was a very productive session and I look forward to sharing information about our accomplishments with residents of the South Maui community."
"The outcome of the 2013 Legislative Session was, indeed, a positive one for our Maui 'ohana," said Rep. Ing, D-11th District (Makena, Wailea, and Kihei). "I welcome all interested members of the public to come to our talk story to hear about new laws and upcoming projects that will impact our state and community. It's also an opportunity to answer questions and hear ideas and concerns. We continue to work for the community even though the Legislature has adjourn-ed for the year."
"Securing the funding for a high school in South Maui was at the top of our agenda for 2013 and very important for South Maui," noted Sen. Baker. "There are other highlights we will share at the talk story, too."
