Mana‘olana Pink Paddlers is focused on helping cancer survivors regain health and strength after cancer.

A $10 donation at the door will help support the nonprofits continuing cancer programs.

Beverages and pizza will be available for purchase.

"As Maui's only nonprofit outrigger paddling organization focused on helping cancer survivors, Mana'olana is conscious of the increasing need for their services, and is committed to growing and adapting to meet emerging needs," said Michael Elam, president of the Maui Canoe Club.

Mana'olana is the sister organization of Maui Canoe Club

Mana'olana acquired its first pink canoe through a donation from McDonald's of Maui. A generous private donation enabled them to order a second pink canoe, which will arrive this summer. The group also raised enough money through their fundraising efforts in 2012 to purchase two used canoes that they are retrofitting as a double-hull so they can carry double the participants. With this canoe, the club can better serve cancer survivors who are learning to paddle or who have physical limitations.

"This concert/auction fundraiser will help Mana'olana continue this important work serving the Maui community," said Elam.

Mana'olana Pink Paddlers is focused on helping cancer survivors regain health and strength after cancer. The group encourages all cancer survivors to paddle every Tuesday and Thursday morning at 8:15 a.m. Mana'olana membership is open to cancer survivors who are Maui residents or visitors.

Mana'olana is located at Sugar Beach in North Kihei. Look for Maui Canoe Club's red, white and blue canoes. Mana'olana meets under the Pink Paddle on the tree in the middle of the club.

Paddles and instruction are provided. The first paddle is free, with a very nominal annual membership.
