Ebb & Flow (E&FA) Arts will present "Chamber Music from San Francisco" on Saturday, Aug. 10, at 7:30 p.m. at Seabury Hall's 'A'ali'iku-honoa Creative Arts Center.
Leading musicians from the San Francisco Symphony--Sarn Oliver and Mariko Smiley on violin, David Kim on viola and Sebastien Gingras on cello--will perform string quartets from the 20th & 21st centuries.
"We are excited to bring this captivating group to Maui, thanks to a second year of support from Makana Aloha Foundation," said Robert Pollock, executive director of E&FA. "The program contains 20th century 'classics' by Stravinsky and Shostakovich and a work by E&FA Honorary President Dr. George Walker, the first African-American to win the Pulitzer Prize in Music. The program will also include world premieres by Oliver."

The long-awaited 'A'ali'ikuho-noa Creative Arts Center on the campus of Seabury Hall opened in September 2012. Located at 480 Olinda Road. Above Makawao, it serves as an elegant and innovative venue for concerts.
"It is well worth the trip just to experience this remarkable new facility," said Pollock.
The event is free. A pre-concert discussion will begin at 6:30 p.m.
The event is underwritten by the Maui-based Makana Aloha Foundation.
