Maui School Garden Network thanks Chef Nabavi

August 15, 2013
Lehn Huff - Maui School Garden Network , Maui Weekly

Chef Paris Nabavi came into the life of the Maui School Garden Network (MSGN) two years ago when he offered to cover all the organic seed purchases for Maui County's K-12 schools. He has continued to do so since 2011. This July, Chef Nabavi offered to continue his generous support of this program.

Realizing that each of us has the kuleana (responsibility and privilege) to educate and nourish our children, Chef Nabavi is passionate about bringing healthy eating, sustainable growing practices and fun back into the way we eat. His current initiatives include partnering with MSGN to sponsor organic seed purchases for school gardens throughout the islands of Maui, Molokai and Lana'i and working in the community to revolutionize the way our families eat at school and at home.

As a result of his generosity and concern for our children's nutritional choices and the consequences for their health, over 5,000 children in Maui County have been impacted by the Maui School Garden Network and its partner organizations, which cover 41 school garden programs.
