Jus E Nuff is more than enough!

Saturday, Aug. 24, brought an end to another South Maui Makule (40 and over) Softball League season with a single elimination playoff.

Pizza Madness was the first team to get the barbecue going after falling to Brudda Kikas 12-8 in the day's opening game.

Next up, Da Braddahs routed Blue Collar 19-4, followed by Wasabi's 10-0 shutout win over En Fuego.

Brudda Kikas earlier win earned them a match up against top-seeded Jus E Nuff. With James Scalafino crushing two balls for homeruns, Brudda Kikas hung around for a while before falling 23-14.

Da Braddahs came out swinging, taking an early lead they never gave up en route to a 13-5 win over Wasabi.

In the championship game, Jus E Enuff used a 13-run third inning to overwhelm Da Braddahs 24-13.

Though his team didn't win, James Scalafino was the day's big hitter with three homeruns and eight RBIs.

Thanks to all the players and game officials for another fun season!

Softball season is here!

Lots of softball coming up in South Maui. Beginning on Sunday, Sept. 22, the 50-plus and Coed Leagues get started, followed by the Men's Open League the next night. All games will be played on the South Maui Community Park field.

The Sunday games will start in the late afternoon, and continue through the evening.

Men's League games will be played Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights at the South Maui Community Park field at 6, 7 and 8 p.m.

Unfortunately our Girl's Softball had to be cancelled for this year due to not enough signups. We've decided to change it back to slow pitch starting next year with the hope that will bring more girls out to play.

We are always looking for volunteers to help officiate games. Just bring your shoes, and a willingness to help out--we'll supply the whistles. For information on any of our programs, call the South Maui Parks office at 879-4533, or check out our South Maui Parks Facebook page.
