The day after Thanksgiving, Maui OnStage (MOS) opens the holiday classic, "Scrooge: the Musical." The book, music and lyrics are by Leslie Bricusse, the musical will be directed by Ricky Jones, with musical direction by Steven Dascoulias and choreography by Erin Kowalick. This musical telling of "A Christmas Carol" is based on the 1970 Albert Finney film.
The very next weekend, MOS's new youth theater program will debut "The Story of Orange" by Vernise Pelzel, with performances at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7 and 14.
MOS continues its monthly, free theater series, ONO!, with "Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some)" by Michael Carlton, Jim FitzGerald and John K. Alvarez. The story is a ridiculously silly send up of everything from Rankin/Bass Puppetoons to the Grinch, Scrooge and "It's a Wonderful Life."
Scrooge is played by Brian Connolly and Hope Blackwell stars as Tiny Tim in Maui OnStage’s holiday classic, “Scrooge: the Musical.”
