The Leis Family Class Act Restaurant at the University of Hawai'i Maui College announced last week that it has been named one of OpenTable 2013 Diners' Choice Top 100 Best Restaurants in America. OpenTable determined the list of honorees after analyzing more than five million reviews of nearly 19,000 restaurants across the country. It was the only restaurant on a university or college campus to make the top 100, and one of two restaurants recognized in Hawai'i, with Mama's Fish House in Pa'ia receiving second place.
"We are thrilled to have won such a prestigious award," said Dining Room Instructor Juli Umetsu. "I could not be more proud of the students at Maui Culinary Academy."
"I am honored to work with the students in the Leis Family Class Act Restaurant," said Chef Tom Lelli. "We are proud to know that our diners thoroughly enjoyed their overall experience and gave us such high marks."
