Bill Maher will ring in the New Year for the third time on Maui with a comedy concert at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center (The MACC) on Wednesday, Jan. 1, at 8 p.m. in the Castle Theater. If you've never seen him, get ready for a wild ride through current affairs with his keen perspective. If you've seen him before--he's got all new material to keep you laughing!
For the last 20 years Maher has set the boundaries of where funny, political talk can go on American television. First on "Politically Incorrect" (Comedy Central, ABC, 1993-2002), and for the last nine years, on HBO's "Real Time," Maher's combination of unflinching honesty and big laughs have garnered him 29 Emmy nominations. In October of 2008, this same combination was on display in Maher's outrageous and unprecedented swipe at organized religion, the documentary "Religulous" directed by Larry Charles of Borat fame. "Religulous" became the eighth highest-grossing documentary to date.
In addition to Maher's television program, which has featured such regular visitors as John Edwards, Ben Affleck, Robin Williams, Arianna Huffington, Alec Baldwin and Michael Moore, Maher has written five bestsellers. He penned "True Story;" "Does Anybody Have a Problem with That?;" "Politically Incorrect's Greatest Hits;" "When You Ride Alone, You Ride with Bin Laden;" "New Rules: Polite Musings from a Timid Observer; and most recently, "The New New Rules: A Funny Look at How Everybody But Me Has Their Head Up Their A**."

Maher was born in New York City and raised in River Vale, New Jersey. He now resides in Los Angeles.
