Internationally renowned teachers, authors and life-partners Eli Jaxon-Bear and Gangaji, who have offered weekly programs on Akaku: Maui Community Television over the last seven years, are visiting Maui to respond to the deepest spiritual questions of our time and share their essential realization in full support of the discovery of lasting peace and fulfillment. Their transmission of living silence is in service of the search for and direct realization of truth, freedom and love.
Gangaji and Eli travel the world speaking to people from all walks of life.
Gangaji teaches through the Gangaji Foundation, a nonprofit organization that serves the truth of universal consciousness, and the potential for the individual and collective recognition of peace inherent in the core of all being.

Eli teaches through the Leela Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to world peace and freedom through universal self-realization.
This year's events include Open Meetings on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 17 and 18, followed by a Silent Retreat Monday through Saturday, Jan. 20 through 25. The Living in Freedom Retreat will be held Monday through Saturday, Jan. 27 to Feb. 1. A small group Weekend with Gangaji will be on Feb. 8 and 9.
"Open Meetings are an opportunity to gather together and closely investigate the truth underlying our daily life experience," said Eli. "It's an invitation to shift your allegiance from the activities of your mind to the eternal presence of your being."
These meetings offer the opportunity to recognize the deepest truth of who you are and provide support in living a life true to this realization, said Gangaji, and "a great opportunity for everyone who's looking for lasting happiness and true fulfillment."
Gangaji and Eli's message is simple: World peace begins with each one of us, in our own hearts, and then passes on from heart to heart.
"We are here in the service of the whole world waking up," they said. "This is what will bring world peace and freedom. It starts with each one of us. It starts with you."
All meetings are open to everyone who feels the desire to come--regardless of previous experience or knowledge. They are an introduction to Gangaji and Eli and the transmission of silence. Each meeting contains a period of silent meditation and an opportunity for questions and reports from the audience.
All events begin at 7 p.m. at the Makawao Union Church Sanctuary located two-and-a-half miles above Pa'ia on Baldwin Avenue.
Plan to arrive at least 20 minutes early to allow time to get settled.
