Rotary Club of Kihei Sunrise to Host Whale Watch/Snorkel Benefit for Youth Programs

The Rotary Club of Kihei Sunrise will host a Whale Watch/Snorkel Trip aboard the Four Winds II sailing vessel on Saturday, Feb. 8, from 1:30 to 5 p.m.

The Four Winds II will depart from Ma'alaea Harbor, slip 80.

All equipment will be provided, including snorkel gear, sport-fishing gear and boogie boards. The trip also features a waterslide and glass-bottom viewing aboard the vessel.

Rotary Club of Kihei Sunrise Past Presidents Patty Hemmen and Ed Corbett are ready to check in passengers on the club’s annual Whale Watch/Snorkel Trip aboard the Four Winds II sailing vessel on Saturday, Feb. 8.

While guests spend the afternoon snorkeling and water-sliding, the crew will prepare a barbecue featuring pulled pork, hot dogs, veggie burgers and chicken breasts. The meal also includes soft drinks, beer and wine, and cookies for dessert.

Musical entertainment will be provided by DJ "Dr. Love."

The cost of the excursion is $65 for adults and $55 for children 12 years and younger.

Tickets must be purchased in advance of the date of the trip.

Proceeds from this fundraising event will be used for community service projects for the youth of two Kihei elementary schools.

Youth projects sponsored by this club include dictionaries for third-grade students, a keiki dental project for first-graders, and ethics-literacy lessons for third-grade students at two Kihei elementary schools.

The club meets at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday mornings at the Five Palms Restaurant in the Mana Kai Maui Resort.
