Assistance Dogs of Hawai'i's sixth annual Valentine's Benefit Event and Auction will be held at the Makena Beach and Golf Resort on Saturday, Feb. 8.
Assistance Dogs of Hawai'i (formerly called Hawai'i Canines for Independence) is a Maui-based, 501(c)(3) charitable organization that has been serving the state's children and adults with physical disabilities and other special needs for the past 14 years by providing professionally trained assistance dogs and lifetime follow-up free of charge to people in need.
Assistance Dogs of Hawai'i receives no government or United Way funding. The program relies entirely on private donations and the annual Valentine's Benefit Event provides over half of the funding for its many programs each year.
