The South Maui Youth Basketball League kept rolling last week with games in the Fryer's and Junior Midgets Divisions.
On Wednesday, Feb. 5, three great games in the Fryer's Division (7 and 8 years old) at Kamali'i School. Getting it started, the Phenoms got by the Sixers 28-22. Jermaine Baguyo was the top scorer with eight points. Jyrann Koehler added six. Aizek Lakalaka and Keagan Klahr scored six points each for the Sixers.
Defending champ Swag pulled away in the second half to defeat the Wolves 30-18. Brayden Rodrigues had another big game, scoring 18 points for Swag. Morgan Kelly and Kai Ward led the Wolves, scoring four points each.

Lastly, the Young Stars got by the Thunder 28-22, Chayden Kekona scored 14 points, and brother Ayden scored six for the Young Stars. Crash Conmy led the Thunder with 12 points.
In the Junior Midgets Division (9 and years old) games played on Thursday, Feb. 6, Aj Gomes scored six points and Xander Nakamura scored five points, leading the Flames past the Blue Devils 13-10. Eddie Biegel scored six points for the Blue Devils.
Next, the Phenoms built a 14-0 halftime lead, then held on for a 20-14 win over the Lil Rebels. Slade Scozzafava topped the Phenoms with eight points, while Kobe Gonzales' six points led the Rebels.
In the finale, the Clippers rolled past the outmanned Hot Shots 38-4 behind Quintin Akaka-Foster, and Simpson Makoni, who both scored eight points.
The Junior Midgets played on Saturday, Feb. 8, at Pa'ia Gym. Those scores will be reported next week.
Fryer's Division games are played Wednesday afternoons at Kamali'i School starting at 4 p.m. Jr. Midgets games are played Thursday afternoons at Kalama Park starting at 4:30 p.m., and for the month of February, every Saturday at Pa'ia Gym starting at 8:30 a.m.
Our Coed Softball League wrapped up its season with a single-elimination tournament on Sunday, Feb. 9. Those results will also be in the next issue.
