Winning Maui Tennis Team to Hold Fundraiser to Attend National Competition

June 19, 2014
Maui Weekly

The D' Renegades, a 3.0 women's team in the age 40-and-over division, won the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Hawai'i state sectionals championships held in Kapalua in May, qualifying them to compete at the USTA national championships at Rancho Mirage in California in October.

The Wailuku team will hold a round robin tennis tourney fundraiser to offset their trip expenses on Sunday, June 22, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Makena Tennis Club.

The fun event will also include food and prizes. Tickets are $30.

D' Renegades team is very proud to represent the State of Hawai'i, with the warm support of the Maui community. They strive to promote competitive tennis as a means of developing sportsmanship, camaraderie, physical fitness and healthy recreation on Maui.

Only about 5,000 of the USTA's 335,000 players make it to national competitions each year.

For more information, contact team captain Renee Jorg at (808) 359-9597.
