Trailing by six at halftime, Elite turned it on in the second half and went on to defeat the Upcountry Kings 37-30. Jaromir Guzman led Elite with 20 points, while Mark Ranchez contributed 10. Logan Yoshida's seven points led the Kings.

Kihei Boyz vs. Team Standard

The first-place Kihei Boyz were shorthanded with only six available players, but they were still able to hold off a determined Team Standard, winning 49-39. Sam Wyner's 14 points was high for the Boyz, with Darren Yadao adding 10 points. Keo Chun had a big game for Team Standard, scoring 20 points.

In a battle between the two winless teams, Na Koa Ikaika came out on top with a 44-35 win over 808 Elite. Kainoa Stone led the way, scoring 21 points, and Kamahi Carter scored nine points. Raider Damuni's 15 points topped the scorers for 808.

JUNE 25

Southside's Finest vs. 'Iao Boys

Wednesday saw two great games, starting with Southside's Finest's 45-44 win over 'Iao Boys in a back-and-forth game that saw neither team lead by more than six points. L.J. Lindsey scored 20 points, with Jayden Ramos adding seven points for Southside. Warren Feike's 16 points led 'Iao.

Flames vs. Maui Lani

Another close back-and-forth game followed between the Flames and Maui Lani. A three-pointer by Alek Paet gave Maui Lani a 45-44 lead with less than 20 seconds left in the game. Then,_ with less than 10 seconds left on the clock, Ethan Manois-Bates hit a short jumper--part of his league season-high 35 points--to give the Flames back the lead 46-45. A last second desperation shot by Maui Lani came up short.

Girls softball, youth sand volleyball to begin soon

Registration for our Girl's Softball will begin in mid July. This year, we are going back to a slo-pitch format.

We are also getting closer to getting a youth sand volleyball program started. More details are coming soon.

We are always looking for volunteers to help officiate games. Just bring your shoes, and a willingness to help out--we'll supply the whistles. For information on any of our programs, call the South Maui Parks office at 879-4533, or check out our South Maui Parks Facebook page.
