If you're unfamiliar with the Reese Witherspoon film, "Legally Blonde," to quote Maui OnStage Executive Director Alexis Dascoulias, "ask your daughter."
UCLA Delta Nu sorority President Elle Woods (Casey Murphy Hughes) has her sights set on marrying Warner Huntington III (Dylan Bode). When Warner tells Elle that he needs someone more serious and decides to break up, she is devastated, but decides to chase her beau to Harvard Law School. Elle's snobby classmates disapprove of her immediately, but in time, Elle excels at Harvard and lands a spot as a student assistant on Professor Callahan's (Dale Button) defense team for fitness queen Brooke Wyndham (Ellen Peterson).
"Don't judge a book by its cover," said Murphy Hughes, "and never underestimate a blonde."
Casey Murphy Hughes, Brett Wulfson,
Felicia Chernicki, Ari Glauser and Christina Sutrov star in “Legally Blonde: the Musical.”
The book, "Legally Blonde: the Musical," written by Heather Hach, with lyrics and music by Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin is based on the novel, "Legally Blonde," by Amanda Brown and the 2001 film.
