Register and vote

July 30, 2014
Deborah Coleman - Ha‘iku , Maui Weekly

This is our opportunity to clean house, begin anew and send a clear message to the puppets of the oligarch that we are done with their divisive lies and insults damaging humanity and the environment.

"Those who would give up Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Security, deserve neither Liberty nor Security." - Benjamin Franklin

Rather then focus on arguing with leaders who have no intention in giving up money to listen, let's replace them with someone who is able to listen.

These new faces on Maui have no ties to big money: Terez Amato for State Senate, West and South Maui; Tamara Paltin for mayor; and John Fitzpatrick (South Maui), Courtney Brunch (Upcountry), Nikhilananda (East Maui) and Elle Cochran (West Maui) for County Council.

Brian Schatz for U.S. Senate -- a Move-on.org favorite. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard's voting record so far is for Hawai'i's people. Support them with your vote, volunteering and/or donations. This is our opportunity to take back our county and be a model for the other islands. Yes, we will hold them accountable for every vote while in office. It's our duty as citizens. The primary is Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014. Vote these fresh ideas with no ties to big money into office.
