The season-ending tournament for South Maui's 15 & Under Youth Basketball division was played on Saturday, July 26. With the league's two top teams competing in tournaments on the Mainland, the field was down to eight teams. Maui Lani, which finished in third place during the season, entered the playoff as the number one seed.
Led by Chayse Tamaki, who scored all of his 17 points in the second half, the 'Iao Boys got the day started with a 32-27 win over Team Standard. Austin Peters and Jacob Espania scored nine points each in a losing cause for Team Standard.
Next, Kainoa Stone of Na Koa Ikaika was red hot from the three-point range, hitting five of seven attempts. But it wasn't enough, as the Upcountry Kings were able to pull out a 43-30 win. Chandler Dobson was the King's top scorer with 10 points.
